Dual use of cigarettes and other tobacco products can maintain tobacco dependancy and use amongst smokers who may otherwise stop. Consumer mistaken perceptions of the “safety” of those products could pose a continuing obstacle for tobacco control. Findings from these efforts will ultimately advance the work of the Interagency Food Safety Analytics Collaboration, a tri-agency group of FDA, CDC, and USDA-FSIS, that is combining data from outbreaks with other data to find out the main sources of L.m. The outcomes of this work will significantly contribute to FDA’s and USDA-FSIS’s efforts in implementing more risk-informed meals security strategies and to higher target resource allocations. They are frequent utilizers of emergency departments and have excessive rates of readmission to inpatient care, particularly when co-occurring substance use problems are present.
